Introduction to popular science about injection molding
Injection molding is one of the most widely used manufacturing processes worldwide. A thermoplastic is a polymer that softens and flows when heated and solidifies when cooled.
Injection molding is the most common modern method of making plastic parts; it is great for making large numbers of identical objects. Injection molding can be used to create many objects, including spools, packaging boxes, bottle caps, auto parts, game consoles, combs, musical instruments, chairs and small tables, storage containers, mechanical parts, and many other plastic products.
The plastic resin enters the mold through the sprue or gate, and then flows into the mold cavity through the pipe or runner to be processed into the faces of the A and B plates.
